2023 Annual Awards Ceremony

On Wednesday 28th June 2023, The Aberdeen Altens Hotel was buzzing with excitement and celebration as we hosted our highly anticipated 2023 Annual Awards Ceremony.  The event served as a platform to recognise the outstanding achievements of apprentices and honour their commitment to excellence in various industries.

The Tullos Training Annual Award Ceremony is a long standing tradition started in 1969 to celebrate the achievements of the Modern Apprentices attending the centre at the time with the introduction of more categories as Tullos Training has expanded.  This year the event returned from a three year break caused by the COVID-19 pandemic which saw many events like these stopped in March 2020.  To celebrate the return of our Annual Awards Ceremony, we invited three years of trainees to join us in celebrating their success and for the first time, we invited our pupils from Portlethen Academy and Westhill Academy who recently completed their Foundation Apprenticeship in Engineering.

Iain Garrett, CEO of Tullos Training, and guest speaker, Liam Kerr MSP welcomed everyone to the event, followed by presentation of certificates and the announcement of our 2023 Annual Award Winners.  One of the highlights of the evening was the acknowledgement of the annual award sponsors, whose generosity contributed to the success of the ceremony.  We would like to offer a special thank you to the following sponsors for donating prizes for the award winners:

  • Colin Middleton from City Electrical Factors
  • Anne Galbraith from SECTT
  • Paul MacDonald from MacDonald Plumbing and Heating Supplies
  • Joshua Archer from MSC Industrial Supplies
  • Dale Thomson from SNIPEF Training Services Ltd

The Annual Awards Ceremony saw a diverse range of accolade presented, reflecting the wide array of apprenticeships we offer at Tullos Training.  Among the recipients were apprentices who demonstrated exceptional skills, commitment, and passion in their respective fields.  The awards recognised apprenticeship categories such as Apprentice of the Year, Foundation Apprenticeship, and Modern Apprenticeships.  A full list of our 2023 Annual Award winners can be viewed below.

The event served as a testament to the hard work and dedication exhibited by both the apprentices and their employer mentors.  It showcased the transformative power of apprenticeships in shaping the careers of young individuals and contributing to the economic growth of the region.

We would like to congratulate all the apprentices and award winners for their outstanding achievements.  Their commitment to excellence and continuous improvement serves as an inspiration to future generations of apprentices.  We would like to extend our gratitude to everyone who attended the prestigious event, making it a resounding success.
