Electrical Installation Apprentices Compete at National Competitions
June 2025 was a busy and exciting month for electrical installation apprentices across Scotland, with both the SECTT Apprentice of the Year north heats and the SkillELECTRIC Scottish heat taking place. Tullos Training was proud to be represented by three talented apprentices, each showcasing their skills, commitment and professionalism at the competition.
On 3rd June, the SECTT Apprentice of the Year north heats were hosted at Moray College. Connor Sinclair of Ness Engineering competed in the 1st Stage Apprentice category with Ross Hunter of DH Marine representing Tullos in the 2nd Stage Apprentice category. Both apprentices worked hard throughout the competition, producing great installations under pressure and showing the quality of training being delivered by Tullos Training.
Later in the month, on 18th June, attention turned to Edinburgh College – Sighthill Campus, where the SkillELECTRIC Scottish heat took place. This prestigious competition is part of a national programme that aims to find the best young electrician in the UK. Representing Tullos Training was Glenn Torrance of Aberdeen City Council, who has shown great skill and determination throughout his apprenticeship so far.
Their instructor, Kenny Mitchell, said, “Connor, Ross and Glenn have been a credit to the SECTT training scheme. It’s a fantastic achievement which reflects how well they have done.”
Tullos Training would like to congratulate Connor, Ross and Glenn for their hard work and dedication in these highly competitive events. Their performances are a credit to themselves, their employers and the training they have undertaken.
