Energy Sector Green Skills Training Programme

Tullos Training Ltd is proud to announce a new partnership with Aberdeen City Council’s Employability and Skills team, ABZWorks. This fully funded initiative from the UK Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) and the Levelling Up agenda will deliver an Energy Sector Green Skills Training Programme to equip local people with the skills needed for the future green economy.

The programme aims to introduce participants to emerging sustainable technologies that are shaping the future of the energy and construction sectors.  Through a blend of classroom-based learning and hands-on practical workshops, candidates will gain both theoretical knowledge and essential practical skills aligned with the transition to low-carbon technologies.

Participants will receive foundational training in a range of key green technologies, including:

  • Air Source Heat Pumps – principles, operation, installation and efficiency
  • Wind Turbines – design, functionality and small-scale applications
  • Grey Water Systems – water recycling concepts and system components
  • Low Temperature Heating Systems – design considerations and energy efficiency

This broad introduction provides learners with a solid grounding in modern, sustainable energy systems and supports pathways into further training and employment within the energy transition.

The Energy Sector Green Skills Training Programme will run over a two-month period in February and March 2026, with training delivered at Tullos Training Ltd’s training centre in West Tullos, Aberdeen.

The programme is open to individuals aged 18 to 67 who live within Aberdeen City Council boundaries, supporting residents to access new opportunities as the region continues to diversify and transition its energy workforce.

This initiative forms part of a wider commitment by Tullos Training Ltd and its partners to support workforce development, sustainability and inclusive economic growth across Aberdeen.  By working collaboratively with Aberdeen City Council, the programme directly addresses local skills needs while supporting national net-zero ambitions.
